Posted on 3rd June 2018

It is essential that the quality of compressed air used in respiratory applications is tested in accordance with BSEN12021.
Regulations stipulate that to avoid risk to health, testing should be carried out every 3 months.

Each test comprises of testing the following:

  • Oil mist
  • Water vapour & measure pressure dewpoint
  • O2
  • Carbon monoxide
  • Carbon dioxide levels
  • Visual assessments

After completion of test

  1. Reference is made to regulations to determine permissible limits.
  2. risk assessments should be modified accordingly to reflect results from ongoing breathing-air tests to maintain safety.

What should I do now?
